Gustavo Herrera
Gustavo Herrera (b. 1975 Los Angeles) received a BA in Religious Studies from California State University in Long Beach, California, in 1999, and an MFA from Claremont Graduate School in Claremont, California, in 2004. Selected solo exhibitions include Black Dragon Society in Los Angeles (2008); Black Dragon Society at Art Basel, Miami (2007); Trouble in Mind at Black Dragon Society in Los Angeles (2005); and My Own Peculiar Way at Peggy Phelps Gallery, CGU, Claremont, California (2004). Selected group exhibitions include Mexicali Bienniel in Mexicali, Mexico (2006); Bold Moves curated by Simon Watson in Los Angeles (2006); and LAXed: Paintings from the Otherside at Peres Projects in Berlin (2006). He is represented by Black Dragon Society in Los Angeles. Gustavo Herrera lives and works in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.
